ADM first days

The disused terrain of the ADM (Amsterdam Dry-dock Company) is re-squatted today by some 100 people, who came by boat and coach. The terrain was evicted four years ago because the owner "needed it urgently". In the 80's this terrain was squatted for the first time. It became known nation-wide because of the recording studio's "Het Koeieverhuurbedrijf" (= Cow rental company). According to the squatters, the terrain was acquired in May of this year by the notorious real-estate broker Lüske. A spokes-person of the squatters: "With this action we want to highlight the vacancy in the western harbor area and to emphasis the speculation with harbor terrains."

We declare ADM to be a cultural free-haven (again)

"We can just start practicing here again, our rehearsal room is almost completely intact," says singer G.W. Sock of The Ex from the stage. The Ex was one of the bands that played at the spectacular opening benefit on the 're-squatted' ADM terrain.

Unfortunately there's no photo's or film-material to prove this, just our collective memory...
